Even with a smaller menu than the other two (includes nodini), you and your love won’t leave hungry.
Valentine’s Day in Toronto Ideas for Families
You once were a couple, now there’s kids everywhere and you still don’t want to miss out on Valentine’s Day in Toronto…the good news is you don’t have to. Here’s a list of where to go to celebrate your love with kids.
Have a Ball with the Globetrotters: Last year, Will and I got up close and personal with the Harlem Globetrotters and I haven’t seen that kid laugh as much since. The show, part game and part entertainment, is a blast for kids of all ages. The big mistake I made last year was not bringing Charlie. Woman play a big part on the court and its a great thing for little girls to see. Game time is 2:00 pm on Valentine’s Day at the Ricoh Coliseum. Tickets are available here.
Go Skating: Plan the perfect Valentine’s Day in Toronto with your kids by going on a skate date. During the day hit Nathan Philips Square for a free skate or head to one of my favourite places, the Evergreen Brick Works. If a nighttime event is more your thing, from 8:00 pm on you can experience a free skate night at Harbourfront Centre complete with DJs.
Eat Your Heart Out: My kids love to head to Boston Pizza for Valentine’s Day in Toronto. Kids will all get a kick out of custom made heart shaped pizzas and you will feel good about helping out the Boston Pizza Foundation. For a $2 donation, families will get a peel and win heart card with chances to win gift cards and free food.
Valentine’s Day in Toronto Ideas for Singles
So you are alone or with a group of friends this Valentine’s Day in Toronto, here’s how to make the best of it.
Cheer on the Maple Leafs at Real Sports: Okay they may not be the best hockey team but they are the only NHL team we have, so why not cheer them on in one of their greatest rivalries with the Montreal Canadiens. Hey, at least at Real Sports there will be beer, food and a good reason to feel (and wear) blue on Valentine’s Day. Ladies, I’m guessing they’ll probably be a fair share of men onsite too.
Forget about Valentine’s Day and Celebrate Cannibalism: South Park’s creator Trey Parker is a really funny human. The Book of Mormon is still one of my favourite musicals. Why not spend Valentine’s Day in Toronto, with a group of 5 Utah miners getting lost in Colorado solving the who dunnit mystery or where 4 of them went. With the tagline “All Singing! All Dancing! All Flesh-Eating!” what could possibly go wrong. Tickets available here.
Celebrate Your Single Self in Style at the Thompson Hotel: The Thompson Hotel is one of those magical places where no one looks unattractive after a stiff drink. Join Stir Events (Match.com) for the largest Anti Valentine’s Day party in Toronto. Party right through the night with other singles at one of Toronto’s hottest hotels. For $20, you get a complimentary drink, opportunities to mingle, icebreakers and top DJ’s spinning tunes all night long. Tickets available here.
