Whether you are gay, straight, lesbian or transgendered, you are always welcome at Toronto Pride. Each year, Toronto Pride hosts a section of Pride just for families. This year, with World Pride being in Toronto, it is even bigger and better. Here are 3 awesome things do to at World Pride 2014 with kids:
This Friday night, June 27th, 2014, you can kick of Family Pride in style with a night at the movies. Happening at Carlton Cinemas on Carlton just off of Church Street, there is a welcome reception at 6:30 pm with the movie starting at 7. They will be showing the Lego Movie. Okay you may have seen that one but lets all be happy its not Frozen.
Family Pride is a kids activity zone that is set up at the Church Street Junior Public School at 83 Alexander Street (Church and Alexander). The space is open Saturday June 28th and Sunday June 29th from 10 am until 5 pm. The event features face painting, a Sick Kids Hospital Care for your Bear clinic, story times and kids yoga amongst other things. For more see the schedule for the two days.
Kicking off at 1:00pm on June 29th, 2014, this year’s Pride Parade will be one of the best yet. This will actually be Toronto’s 34th Pride Parade and there has been quite an evolution since the first. People from all walks of life come out to the parade and the parade itself reflects true happiness in Toronto. Kids will love the dance music, floats with bubbles and countless rainbows that go by. You will love that its not November and you aren’t freezing waiting for Santa.
